Cheese, Wine & Contact Evening 2008
Monday the 19th of May, 2008
Time: 15:15 - 17:45
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Mathematics presents its first 'cheese, wine and contact' evening. The Centre is a new collaborative enterprise in Uppsala, facilitating joint research between the mathematical sciences and other research areas. The evening will give us a chance to present the centre to researchers in Uppsala and tell you more about what we do.
They keynote speaker at our opening evening is Professor Georg Bock, head of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Scientific Computing in Heidelberg. This centre is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. It is dedicated to interdisciplinary co-operation in modelling, simulation and experimental verification in a wide range of application areas.
The evening is also an opportunity to present our own interdisciplinary centre, as well as the new mathematical and computational consultancy which we offer to researchers in Uppsala.
An important component of the evening is of course the cheese, the wine and a chance for mathematicians and non-mathematicians to chat informally and forge joint research.
