Abstract: Percolation was a game played mainly in the plane during its early years, which lead to some nice two-dimensional results. The reason planar percolation was so extensively studied is that, given any two-dimensional lattice L, one can construct a corresponding dual lattice D whose edges are in one-one correspondence with the edges in L. During this talk, the bond percolation model will be defined and the planar duality consequences will be explored in order to calculate the critical probability for the square lattice. The result will then be generalized for more exotic lattices.
