Abstract: The non-chiral intermediate long wave equation is a two-component, parity-invariant generalization of the intermediate long wave equation. This equation has properties associated with integrable models including a Lax pair, an infinite number of conservation laws, and soliton solutions whose dynamics are governed by an auxiliary Calgero-Moser-Sutherland system. We discuss the equation on the real line as well as the periodic problem.
