Abstract: Opinion dynamics (OD) can be a promising framework for understanding how the actions and properties of groups emerge from the way individuals generate and share information. The talk will make a review of the zoo of OD models where the so called votel model and its generalization is the starting point. The role of network social network structure will be in the main focus together with the modeling of recurrent mobility in physical spaces and the algorithmic bias when opinions are exchanged online as shown in Phys. Rev. E 97, 062313 and Phys. Rev. E 104, 044312 (2021).
