Welcome to this seminar held by Dr. Christian Copetti, currently a postdoc at SISSA, with the title "Non-invertible symmetries and (higher) categories".

Abstract: We review the "modern" definition of symmetry in Quantum Field Theory as the set of its topological operators and discuss some natural (categorical) structure that it must have to describe physical systems.

We then provide some explicit examples  and discuss how it is natural to rephrase it in terms of topological field theories and their interfaces.
