Welcome to this seminar held by Guglielmo Lockhart with the title "Instanton strings on Taub-NUT spaces".

Abstract: Higher-rank Donaldson-Thomas invariants are conjecturally related to partition functions of supersymmetric quantum field theories on Taub-NUT (TN) space. An important class of examples arises by considering six-dimensional theories on the space T2 x TN. In this case, the partition function is expected to receive contributions from instanton strings. I will discuss a class of brane configurations that provides a convenient description of these strings and makes it possible to compute determine their contribution to the partition function.
