Welcome to this seminar held by Cyril Closset (Birmingham) with the title "Supersymmetric Partition Functions and the Coulomb Branch of 5d SCFTs".
Abstract: I will revisit the computation of supersymmetric partition functions of 5d SCFTs on closed five-manifolds by studying the 4d N=2 supersymmetric Kaluza-Klein (KK) field theory obtained by circle compactification. In particular, I will propose a new approach to compute the supersymmetric partition function on circle-fibered five-manifolds through the insertion of a fibering operator in the topologically twisted KK theory. I will also discuss the relation of our approach to the gluing of Nekrasov partition functions, and to the Lockhart-Vafa formula for the 5-sphere partition function.
