Abstract: Gaussian multiplicative chaos, a random measure, appeared originally in the work by Kahane in 1985. Since then it has received a lot of attention and have applications in various areas. This talk gives a gentle introduction to the topic together with some applications. In particular, we discuss how Gaussian multiplicative chaos is seen in deep geothermal heating.
